Almost But Not Quite

Hello Fellow Readers!

Well, I gave it a shot.  I was trying to submit Love Revisited to Hallmark for publishing.  They have very specific rules on what they will except, one being the length.  I had to double the length of the original story in a few weeks.  Yeah, that didn't happen in time.  But that's alright.  I'm sure Hallmark will open that window again to accept manuscripts.  By diving back into the story, I have been able to add much more depth to some of the characters and enrich the story as well.  So I won't be putting that particular story back up just yet.

I've got bits and pieces of stories but nothing new to post yet.  For those of you who are still here taking this journey with me, thank you.  It's a slow journey but one worth having.

Well, I'm off to write some more.  Enjoy your day.  There are only so many minutes in this life we have.  Appreciate every minute of it.  And, as always,

Happy Reading

Trying Something New

Hello All!  You may have noticed that you don't have access to Love Revisited anymore.  It's for a good reason.  I was watching something on television when an idea hit me.  Let's just say that I think I can tweak Love Revisited for bigger things if I act quickly.  I only have until the end of February to make it happen though.  I'm being cryptic and it's a must but only for now.  Once I dive into this project and get word back then I can share what I'm trying to accomplish.

I ask that you talk to your powers that be and send good writing/editing vibes my way.

And as always

Happy Reading!

Query Updates and Such

Greetings and Salutations Readers!

For those of you affected by Hurricane Florence, I'm sending thoughts and prayers to you and yours.  I hope you remained safe and are taking the steps necessary to put your normal lives back together.

This won't be a long post as I am (I hope) close to the end of my (now) month long bout with laryngitis AND, as of Sunday, a nasty cold has joined the party.  GOOD TIMES ahead...  Needless to say, I'm not at my best so do forgive.

I'm still working on the drama cop story along with the short comedy.  As I'm sure you can imagine, it's slow going with the aftermath of Florence and the illnesses that just won't quit.  But I'm still kicking, that I am.

I also sent another query out today.  Shout out to Gabe Andrews and Harold Chester for bringing Ms. Weronika Janczuk to my attention!  She is with the D4EO Literary Agency (www.d4eoliteraryagency.com) and I'm looking forward to speaking with her.  Remember, there may be a thousand "no's" but I only need one "yes" and patience is my dear friend.  I'm happy to get a response either way the ball drops.

Well, considering I am having just the worst time breathing through my nose at the moment, I'm going to go make friends with Vicks Vapor Rub and my bed.  Continue reading.  Keep putting those quills to parchment.  And as always

Introducing SG Walters

Good Morning Readers.

It is time to finally put a face to a name.  I had to wait until I took a good picture though.  A selfie just wouldn't do. So I have officially added it to my profile.

My "mystery" story is starting to pick up some momentum now.  Oddly enough, the more is grows, the less mysterious it seems.  It's leaning towards a drama mystery but we'll see where my quill takes me this time.

I've got a new piece brewing as well but it's more outline and ideas than story at this point.  Not sure where to start with it.  The story will come to me when it's ready to.

Take Care All and as always

A Competition In Our Midst

Good Afternoon Readers,

Absent again, I know.  The joys of life has stolen my focus once again.  No matter.  The drive is still there.  I have sent other inquires out and got another response (negative but a response all the same).

Today I ran across a contest while browsing PW.org (Poets & Writers - love this site!) and while reading it something HUGE caught my eye.  How about the winners of this contest will get to have a conversation with their partnering literary agency about writing careers and their written works.  Motivated???

ABSOLUTELY!

I'll be sending in a piece this weekend.  Still have a "9 to 5" to tend with during the week after all.  I think I'll submit "Love Revisited" the rewrite if it doesn't surpass the word limit.  If it does then "Death's Diary" it is.  I'm nowhere near finished with my science fiction piece, my comedy, or my (hmmm, how best to categorize it) mystery perhaps.

My "mystery" piece has been fun to write. At times it seems more like a screenplay than a short story.  I can see it clear as the hand in front of my face but when it reaches the paper it seems to jump from a story to a television movie and back again.  Once I get all the pieces out of my imagination then I'll get a clearer picture of what this piece is growing up to be.

I realized I have put not one poem up for your reading enjoyment.  I'll have to work on that.  I have a few up  my sleeve.

For those of you who celebrate holidays, I hope you had a wonderful Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, and Easter.  For you secret authors, keep your quills inked and your parchment at the ready for those new ideas.  For you "cup of tea and a warm blanket" readers, I hope you have found a real page turner (or three).  I'm off to counting words my followers.  Thanks for sticking around.  And as always,

Happy Reading
